November is full of lots to do, celebrate, eat, enjoy and make good family time out of. November includes Native American Heritage Month, National Adoption Awareness Month, Military Family Appreciation Month, National Gratitude Month, National Inspirational Role Models Month, Veteran’s Day, the Marine Corp Birthday, World Kindness Day, World Hello Day, Beautiful Day, American Made Matters Day, and the Great American Smokeout day. We get an extra hour of sleep and start the end of year holiday season with Thanksgiving and un-official family reunions, good meals and desserts, football, Black Friday shopping, and much to be grateful for. And while this year’s sports, after Thanksgiving day shopping, and things we’re grateful for differ from years past, keeping our family time close to what’s familiar and comfortable, is what many of us desire.
Family Days to celebrate this month include: Family Stories Month, National Family Caregivers Appreciation Month, National Family Literacy Month, National Men Make Dinner Day, and National Parents as Teachers Day. And don’t forget your family members birthdays, anniversaries, and special celebrations and occasions.
Following is our list of fun days to turn into great Family Time this month. On days that celebrate foods, incorporate them into your meals and give the kids a cooking lesson. On dates with activities, add them into your daily routine. On all other days have a discussion, do some research, discover something new about the day. Make a game of it, get the whole family involved, and have some fun.
